STARS Family Services welcomes new executive director

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Sharon Coutryer, our new Executive Director, to STARS Family Services. Sharon has a wealth of experience with members of the Intellectual and Developmentally Disabled field, years of leadership in community operations, large and small, state licensed and independent, and a wonderful faith in Jesus.

Additionally, Dr. Coutryer brings:

  • Over 15 years management and quality enhancement experience with a proven track record as a strong, collaborative internal manager and external representative of an organization.

  • A proven measurement, analytics, and tracking proficiency to ensure that problems are clearly explained and steps toward resolution are documented and executed.

  • A solid record for facilitating cooperative partnerships with residents, staff, and external stakeholders.

Sharon currently sits on the board of directors for Outreach Community Center in Carol Stream, The Carlton Center in Carol Stream and is a member of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and the ARC.
